- Never
point the lance or nozzle at people or animals.
- Never use preheated water in the excess of 140 degrees.
- Never
spray flammable liquids.
- Never move the machine by pulling the hose.
- Never secure the spray gun in the "on"
or "squeezed" position. Spray guns are designed to move to the "closed" position if the operator loses
control or drops the spray gun.
Pressure Washer NozzlesPressure washer nozzles contain a small opening, which is sized to create the desired pressure at a specific flow.
This opening is a restriction in the water flow. When the flow of water from the pump is forced through the pressure is created.
Pressure washer nozzles with an opening that is most closely sized to the specifications of your pump will give you the optimum
performance. Pressure washer nozzles are color coded to dictate what degree of spray they produce.
Red
- Zero DegreeThere is no fan or spray area created with this tip so it is not the choice to use when
coverage is desired. It does deliver the highest impact as it concentrates the pressure into the smallest area. Be careful
to avoid damaging fragile surfaces.
Yellow - 15 DegreeThis tip is the most common
in tough situations. When used properly, this tip will allow you to scrap away unwanted material such as peeling paint. It
is used when breaking the bond is harder than average.
Green - 25 DegreeThis tip is
most frequently used when washing. This tip allows for both good impact and good coverage. Mostly used when breaking the bond
is relatively easy.
White - 40 DegreeThis tip is best used in delicate situations.
The wide spray is best used for rinsing decks and washing vehicles.
Black - Chemical ApplicationThese tips have the largest opening that applies the chemical/water mixture in a wide, low-pressure spray. Most chemical
applications are introduced to the water stream after the water leaves the pump. These nozzles create a siphoning action that
allows the chemical injector to siphon chemicals and introduce it to the water flow.
Turbo NozzleA turbo nozzle takes a zero degree tip (the highest impact) and creates a larger area. Most turbo nozzles can be tuned
to either 15 or 25 degrees.
Pressure washer nozzles are wear items. A constant flow of water will wear away anything,
even the hardened steel of a nozzle, eventually increasing the size of opening. Turbo nozzles will wear out far quicker than
standard nozzles.
